Do you think that we need a
stone guard on our campertrailer? We are towing it with a rodeo exra cab ute with cooper stt tyres on it. Thanks Allyson

I would fit one. The front of my camper was sand blasted in one trip to the centre.

Yes & also you may need to watch for stones coming off the rear wheels - ricocheting off camper or
guard back to car .!!!

Yep Absolutely.
We saw lots of broken rear canopy & wagon windows on our 2 year trip caused by stones bouncing off the trailer.
I had a deflector on the trailer & a full width mudflap on the rear of my Hilux & did not have a problem.

A
stone guard is a must to protect the trailer and car, we suffered lots of damage with our first camper trailer on the
Birdsville.

The
stone guard is a
stone stomper from www.stonestomper.com.au, we found them excellent as it stops all the rocks getting between the car and camper, also keeps a lot of the dust down.
When turning the bungees stretch not the mesh and access to the back of the car is just a matter of pushing your shin against the mesh and it stretches in or just unclip one side and the mesh drops to the ground.

I have STT's and they have a tendency to pick up stones hurl them.
You will need to protect the rear window as
well

Hi Allyson52, The answer is yes. It will prevent stones & light gravel striking the trailer & your own vehicle but also prevent missiles from other vehicles that pass you. Have a safe trip Happy trails.
